Default How was business in 2009?

The busy season is winding down, and hopefully all of you had a productive and successful year. With the current state of the economy, and people across the country tightening their belts, Tree Services magazine wants to know, how did your business fare in '09?

The only thing that made if average is the fact that I cant get out and do the work due to the weather. Got the work just its too wet.

Mine was down 40% yes 40%. It's amazing I'm still goin but I claim that's because I have NO debt and I own all my equipment. My costs are almost all directly related to how much we work. I hope to recover in 2010, if that is the case the numbers will be a lot different.

Default Trends

Our business was up this year but keep in mind we're also a new business so that was to be expected. This year (2010) has already hit hard though! We're usually booked for about two weeks out by the end of January and we haven't had a call in almost a month. Ouch!! We're struggling to keep employees around at this point. Our only saving grace is a couple of large contracts that were done for schools in the area for projects they were working on. March is usually a really good month for us so we'll try to keep everyone around till then! Hopefully people will loosen up and start opening those wallets as we near germination!
