My name is Doug Malawsky and I am with HMI (www.hmiadvantage.com). We manage a national network of leading tree care companies and stream referrals/work assignments to our network members from our clients that include insurance companies, adjusters, property owners and managers, etc.
Our mission statement is to educate the insurance industry about the value of professional tree care work. Insurance companies undervalue tree work and gave over $2 billion dollars in tree work in 2008 to the lowest bidding companies that can underbid because they do not invest in workman's comp insurance, safety equipment and training, qualified tree workers, etc. - we are trying to change that.
We are proud to have over 50 top tree care companies in our network but our ability to contract and influence the insurance industry is based on coverage and we continue to recruit qualified companies across the country. We are TCIA Pact members, ISA sponsors and ANLA members. Dr. Michael Dirr is our chief horticultural advisor and we are proud to have all of the TCIA board members in our network.
